Privacy policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Mienis Consultancy runs ScrumGames. This policy explains which personal data we collect, why we do so, and what your rights are. We keep it as short and clear as we can.
1.Who we are
Mienis Consultancy is responsible for the personal data processed through ScrumGames. For questions or requests about your data, email privacy@mienis-consultancy.nl.
2.What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and password (stored securely by our login provider) or your Google login, your role and an optional profile photo.
- Company details you enter: company name, legal name, registration and VAT number, billing email address, phone number, website and address.
- Sessions: when you join a game, your name, an optional role and photo and your email address, plus your answers, votes and scores. They are stored with the company that runs the session, so your scores add up across its sessions.
- Demo requests: your name, email address and company.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your billing details and the status of your subscription, never your card details.
- The Scrum Games: your team name, the names and roles of the members, the questions you ask the stakeholders and your team's backlog and plan.
- Usage statistics: only if you accept analytics cookies (see below).
3.Why we use it
- To provide the service you signed up for: accounts, sessions, scores, The Scrum Games and billing (performance of a contract).
- To follow up on what you asked for, such as your demo request (consent).
- To understand how the site is used and improve it (consent, through the cookie banner).
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping invoices (legal obligation).
We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
4.The Scrum Games and AI
The stakeholders you interview and the jury that scores submissions are powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Your questions and your team's work are sent to Anthropic to generate the answers and the scores. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
Published rankings show your team name and company name.
5.Who processes data for us
- Google Firebase: login and database, and Google Analytics if you consent
- Vercel: hosting of the website
- Stripe: payments
- Anthropic: the AI in The Scrum Games
- YouTube: videos, only once you press play (in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode)
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6.Cookies and local storage
We only store what the site needs to work: your language, your theme (light or dark) and your cookie choice. Google Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with 'Cookie settings' at the bottom of every page.
7.How long we keep it
- Account and company details: as long as you have an account. When you ask us to delete it, we do so within a month.
- Sessions and scores: until the trainer or company deletes them, or the account is deleted.
- Demo requests: at most 12 months.
- Invoices and payment records: 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
- The Scrum Games: your team's work and scores for as long as the competition results are shown.
8.Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email privacy@mienis-consultancy.nl and we'll respond within a month. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
9.Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and strict database rules make sure participants, trainers and companies only see what belongs to them.
10.Children
ScrumGames is meant for professional training and is not intended for children under 16.
11.Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. We let account holders know about important changes.
